Reflecting.

No, this is not a post on me reflecting upon any subject matter, although I probably should be. It's about me, buying a reflector to use with my camera.

If I have learned one thing about photography, it's the lighting. It has to be perfect, or your photos turn out like, well, not good. In Arizona, the sun is always up. (and even when it's not it still feels like it is, but we won't get into that) An average of 211 days are sunny, clear blue skies. Which is awful for picture taking. You have to find shade to take good pictures, and that it can be hard to do. Even if you do, there are the annoying specks of sun that shine through the trees. So there is a solution to this mess, it's a reflector.

These are a couple of photos I took testing it out. They are in the late afternoon with the sun blazing behind the J. They are straight out of the camera so you can get the true effect.

I was impressed with the results, although not perfect, it is an improvement. I will be taking my portable, pop open, 5-1 reflector with me everywhere I go. As if the camera isn't annoying enough for the PB & J, I add a 22" disc of light.
